Description
Classic Nestle Toll House Cookie Bars made with chocolate chips and optional nuts for a chewy, sweet treat.

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 package Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips, 12 ounces
- 1 cup chopped nuts, optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 15x10x1-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until light and creamy, about 3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using, stirring until evenly distributed.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into 35 (2-inch) squares.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Notes
- For chewier bars, slightly underbake.
- Substitute nuts with dried fruit if preferred.
- Use room-temperature eggs for better mixing.
